How I met Avichai
A surprise email from Avi saying he was in town (well, near enough anyway) led to our meeting less then 12 hours later.
Err, I was late :-( but he was gracious, dontchaknow, and impressed me with his French. Curiously though, he has no “American” accent until he speaks French
Over luncher (hmm, between lunch and supper) we spoke about all sorts of things and I wish I had more time to talk to him to ask questions like…
—> Why Judaism?
—> Do you critique other tailors when they take up your hems ‘n things?
—> No, really…Do you drive 14 hours straight?
—> Why is the notion of adoption dear to you?
—> Did you actually walk downtown on Saturday (14 miles round trip)?
—> So what’s the “no shaking hands loophole” that you alluded to?
—> Do you still have the crushed velvet tights?
Seriously, he’s a fun, dude. Should he make it to Paris, I’d totally hang out with him given the chance as he doesn’t mind getting lost (whereas I’d go bonkers by myself in a strange place AND no map of some sort)
Check me off for having seen Avi. He’s cool for days!
